It is possible to find likely dates when a woman will get pregnant, give birth and what sex the baby is likely to be as long as you have the woman in questions time, date and place of birth.
However it is important to note that Astrology shows merely possibilities, not certainties, not what is definite but what is probable given the circumstances. If a woman isn't even in a position to get pregnant but is just hoping she will (maybe she’s still a virgin or hasn't stopped using contraception) then all the best predictive Astrology in the world won’t work or help.
Astrology shows conception and birth primarily through Jupiter and Mars as Jupiter represents growth, dramatic events and luck whilst Mars represents our body, physical effort and sexual appetite.
When transiting Mars makes an aspect to a woman’s natal Mars or Jupiter there is the chance for conception as in theory nine months later transiting Mars will then often be in the opposite place astrologically where it can then bring about the birth.
Sometimes it is transiting Jupiter aspecting a woman’s natal Mars but as Jupiter moves slower than Mars these aspects can be in effect for some months rather than the shorter transiting Mars aspects that can often last less than a week unless Mars is retrograde or stationary direct.
Nearly always when a woman gives birth there will be a Mars aspect within 5 degrees to the woman’s natal Mars and I have yet to see the chart of a mother and child where there is no aspect present between the baby’s Mars and that of it’s mother’s Mars within 5 degrees unless Mars is in the same sign.
In theory no Mars to Mars aspect within 5 degrees between a biological mother and child can indicate medical intervention to bring about the birth such as inducement or more likely a Caesarian Section birth but even then there should be an aspect between Jupiter and Mars present in some form perhaps even by transit to the progressed placement of her Mars.
However a transit of Mars during the pregnancy can cause complications especially if it is negatively contacting both her natal Mars and Jupiter or her natal Saturn; also difficult during pregnancy is transiting Saturn or Pluto negatively aspecting a woman’s natal Mars.
Ideally a transiting planet should be within 3 degrees of a Natal planet to be in aspect. For those who don’t know a planet is said to be in transit as it is moving through the Zodiac at a given moment in time, usually the present time. So a planets path travelling through the Zodiac when in a certain sign and degree that is within aspect in the present time is an active transit, future transits not yet within aspect are considered approaching transits and are predictive, and past transits are no longer active as they are out of aspect but are still useful for understanding our life events, mundane astrology and for chart rectification.
Thanks to our knowledge of planets orbits we can see what sign a planet is in at any time in the past, present or future. When a transiting planet makes a contact to our birth planets in our natal chart it triggers events. for more info click here
Interestingly many women give birth for the first time when transiting Saturn is in the same place, a conjunction, that Pluto was when they were born (or vice versa) helping bring stability and indicating a transformation (Pluto) in responsibilities (Saturn). A trine or sextile and to a lesser extent quintile, between natal Saturn and transiting Pluto (or other way around) is also favourable for adapting. Squares, opposition, inconjunct and quincunx show struggles to adapt with the monumental changes having children brings.
PREDICTING GENDER
Not only does Astrology help predict the birth but also gives an indication of the gender of the baby as you often (but not always) find in the charts of fathers and daughters (especially the first daughter) that the daughter’s Mars is in the same sign as the fathers natal Venus.
Famous examples of this are sports star David Beckham (Venus Gemini) and his only daughter Harper b. July 2011 (Mars Gemini), ‘Thor’ actor Chris Hemsworth (Venus Virgo) and his eldest daughter India b.May 2012 (Mars Virgo). UK Royalty Prince William (Venus Taurus 25°) and his first born daughter Princess Charlotte b. 02 May 2015 (Mars Taurus 23°)
This gives the daughters the ability to wrap their daddy around their little finger as self-seeking Mars dominates Venus and gives the fathers the propensity to spoil their girls as Venus represents love and money.
For sons it is slightly more complex so we look primarily for Venus or Mars being opposite or conjunct their fathers Sun, Mars or Ascendant sign. You can also find elder siblings help with predictions, so a younger brother is often born with his elder brother’s Ascendant as his Mars or Sun sign or his Ascendant will be opposite big brothers Sun or Mars sign.
For example UK Royalty Prince Harry has a Sagittarius Mars which is conjunct his elder brother Prince William‘s Ascendant sign (and in the same sign as his Father, Prince Charles has his Mars) and a Capricorn Ascendant opposite Prince William’s Cancer Sun.
Actor Casey Affleck has an Aquarius Ascendant opposite his elder brother actor/director Ben Affleck‘s Leo Sun, while Casey also has a Leo Sun.
Actor Joaquin Phoenix was born with his Sun in Scorpio conjunct (same place as) his late elder brother actor River Phoenix‘s Ascendant of Scorpio 5° and his 1 degree Scorpio Jupiter. His 2 degree Scorpio Venus is also conjunct River's Ascendant and Jupiter. Whilst it is believed by some Astrologers (his exact birth time is unknown) he has a Virgo ascendant in the same sign as River's 0 degree Virgo Sun. I personally would rectify Joaquin's ascendant to 23 degrees Leo, where River's Mars was at birth.
When finding the most likely date a woman will give birth other aspects to look for are Jupiter aspects to Sun or Venus primarily between parents and children but also found between siblings.
Moon aspects especially oppositions to Mother’s natal or progressed Moon or opposite her natal or progressed Sun. Venus aspecting the Mother’s natal or progressed Venus. Lunar Node aspects to Sun, Moon and AC are also another indicator that must be studied.
So knowing these aspects are likely to be found can help you predict when a woman is most likely to give birth if you have enough details of her chart and maybe for good measure that of her partner and any children they may already have.
Remember though, Astrology is an art-form and not an exact science and as such it is down to the skill of the Astrologer to find what aspects are the most potent and revealing and which help to successfully predict birth.
